Our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification Program is designed as a ‘mentorship’ more than just another ‘teacher training’.

What exactly does this mean?

Long Island Yoga School is an Accredited Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School .We follow all Yoga Alliance standards of teaching. Throughout our curriculum, we ensure that our students get a quality education, always providing a safe, supportive environment for your learning experience.

Class size is purposely kept smaller than most NYC Teacher Trainings. This allows us to pay attention to detail, quality, and spend more individual time to mentor each student. At Long Island Yoga School we keep your individual goals in mind and work with you to achieve them.

If you love yoga and are passionate about sharing it with others, we want you! This is what is important to us. Students do not have to have a fancy yoga practice and be able to do every advanced yoga posture to enroll in our program. A basic understanding of asana, a willingness to learn and work hard, is what we look for in our trainees.

Our program consists of:

Asana Labs – We break down each posture for a solid understanding of alignment in your body. This enhances your own practice while sharpening your eye to see misalignments in your students.

Energetic Sequencing Method – We will cover the energetic components of asana and how to sequence according to that energy. Students will learn how to sequence safe, fun, energetically balanced and educational classes quickly and easily.

Clear Cues – Say what you mean! Learn the proper way to phrase your cues so your students will have an easier time following and hearing them. With our method of delivering cues, a student with their eyes closed will be able to follow with ease!

Philosophy – We will cover some classical yoga texts like the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali complete with detailed information on The Eight Limbs of Yoga, plus The Bhagavad Gita, The Shiva Samhita and The Hatha Yoga Pradipika. In addition we cover the Chakras, Nadis and Subtle Bodies in depth along with the concept of the Yin/Yang philosophy all of which is the heart of the Prana Shakti Flow Philosophy.

Meditation – Students will learn effective ways to lead a meditation to various levels of practitioners and know how to make students' feel comfortable being where they are and get what they need. We help you to develop a meditation practice of your own.

Business of Yoga – We discuss how to succeed in the competitive world of teaching yoga – what materials are needed, where to get jobs, how to create jobs, and how to shine and rise above the competition.

Other subjects covered:
Anatomy, Pranayama, Power of the Voice, Prop Use, Restorative Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Karma & Dharma, Four Paths of Yoga, Mantra, and Tantra.

Payment Plans

· To receive Early Bird Special, a payment of $2100 must be received by August 31 for Great Neck Training and June 30 for Kings Park Training.

· For a 3-month payment plan, a $795 payment is due three times from starting month of program on the 10th of each month

· For a 6-month payment plan, a $410 payment is due six times from starting month of program on the 10th of the month . 

Refunds will be given up until one month before start date of the training.
