The "Yoga-In-Me Kids" Curriculum ties in the rhythm and beats of music with movement along with game playing, storytelling, puppetry, arts & crafts, dress-up and "the arts of academic learning" and uses all of these modalities to create a yoga program for kids that is magical!

The "Yoga-In-Me Kids" Curriculum will give you the necessary skills to structure your own enrichment classes from beginning to end. With the knowledge acquired from this training you will be more confident and willing to open yourself up to becoming spontaneous, creative and "go with the flow".

The "Yoga-In-Me Kids" Curriculum will include: Welcome Time: Welcoming the children (often through simple yoga movements and play) allowing them to connect with their self identity, feeling safe and comfortable with you and the other children.

Setting the Mood: Transitioning into the heart of the class by learning how to get children enthusiastic and excited without over-stimulating and/or losing control of the group.

Breathing Exercises: Watch the children breath energy and life into their bodies as they learn a bunny breath, putting on bunny ears and a tail or learn the bumble bee breath and take flight with their very own bumble bee wings.

Yoga Postures: Children learn traditional poses, make up their own postures and we explore yoga poses that are in motion as we play-act to the rhythm and beats of song and dance.

Game-Playing: Through game playing children learn how to trust themselves and others. Learn how to allow the children the freedom to play games, be silly and express themselves without losing control of the group.

Chanting: Learn traditional chants, allow the children to create their own chants and use a variety of percussion instruments, including making their own instruments!

Relaxation techniques: Simple visualization and meditation techniques geared for young children can be wonderfully grounding. Yet the key is to create visualizations that will capture their imagination and allow them to relax!

Optional Activities: Storytelling, Show & Tell, Acting Out, Puppetry and Arts & Crafts are optional activities that can be weaved and integrated along with yoga poses and movements.

If you have always wanted to teach yoga to children, this training will prepare you to integrate all the various learning modalities and how to adapt the above curriculum into an academic, classroom setting, or an OT/PT setting.

This training will be lead by Lore Kent who is the Creator of the Yoga-In-Me Kid Yoga Teacher Training Program. For more information on Lore please go to www.LongIslandChairYoga.com.
