Long Island Yoga School and Bonda Yoga will continue to be funding the MS Society Long Island Chapter's Kathleen Valachi/Catherine Caldarella Memorial Fund Home Health Aide Assistance Program.
Starting January 2011,Long Island Yoga School will be donating 5% of its profits from the 200 hour trainings to this program.

Our fundraising for the 2012 MS Walk has begun;
100% of all donations made will fund  the MS Society Long Island Chapter's "Kathleen Valachi Memorial Fund Home Health Aide Assistance Program."

With the monies raised at this year's annual MS Walk to be held on May 6 ,2012, this program will continue to help families here on Long Island receive assistance by providing a home health aide when the need arises which can hopefully delay or prevent long term admissions into a nursing facility. This was just the case with my mother. We were unable to take care of her at home as her disease worsened and had to make the decision to place her in a nursing facility. She was there for over 10 years, getting worse as her desire to fight and her quality of life diminished more and more as each year passed.
The purpose of this program is to help those who have MS get the home health aide assistance that is sorely needed and sometimes insurance or finances can’t provide. With the help of this program those living with MS on Long Island and their families might not have to make that impossible decision between keeping their loved ones at home and placing them in nursing homes.Please help this new program to help those who so desperately need it.

Our Fundraiser for The Childrens' Future International that was held in conjunction with Lululemon Manhasett December 2010 raised $800 which will go towards building a garden and playground for the children in Cambodia. We still need $1200 more to complete the project.
